Thursday, November 27th, 2008

There’s been a vast array of strikers being linked to the Premier League in January but only in the past few days have we seen Inter Milan’s forgotten man Adriano Leite Ribeiro mentioned. The 26-year-old Brazilian was rated as one of the best in the world only a few seasons ago but after much controversy, a lack of form and falling out of favour with new coach Jose Mourinho, the striker could be available for a knock-down £7m fee.

Tottenham have been linked to a move to Bordeaux’s Argentine international striker Fernando Cavenaghi this week. The interest has been met with a positive reply from the 25-year-old when he said, “I do not know if Tottenham are really interested in signing me. If it’s right, though, I will study this offer because they are a top English team.”"I must say I like the English league, I like it a lot.”

North London Rivalry for the £5M Answer to Both Tottenham & Arsenal Goalkeeping Problem?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Reports suggest there is going to be a £5m North London tug of war this January for Wolves goalkeeping starlet Wayne Hennessey between Tottenham and Arsenal. The current keepers at both respective clubs have failed to impress this season with Heurelho Gomes making a series of errors and Manuel Almunia doing the same though to a far lesser extent.

Tony Cascarino Views on Spurs Stars - Gomes, Lennon & Huddlestone

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Heurelho Gomes may have got a clean-sheet at the weekend but he still remains far from convincing in the Tottenham goal. I felt Paul Robinson was bad last year and this lad has picked up his form, in fact he’s done worse. Harry Redknapp may have spoken in the press defending the Brazilian but I wouldn’t be surprised if he has someone already lined up to replace him in January.

Which Goalkeeper Would You Sign to Replace Gomes at Tottenham in January? Shay Given, David James, Ben Foster or Rob Green?

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

This week the New Football Pools pundit Tony Cascarino claimed Tottenham should pull out all the stops to sign Newcastle’s 32-year-old goalkeeper Shay Given to replace error-prone Heurelho Gomes in the Spurs goal. The former Republic of Ireland striker had this to say on the goalkeeping dilemma facing Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane, “Spurs brought in Gomes to replace Paul Robinson after he made numerous mistakes last season but seemingly nothing has changed. I know that Harry Redknapp has been strongly linked with Newcastle’s Shay Given and for me, he would be perfect for Tottenham”.

Arsenal in ‘Danger of Slipping Out of Top 4′ Though Spurs, Everton & Aston Villa Need to Improve Claims Former Chelsea Star

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008
