Alan Hansen’s Premier League Preview: Stoke v Tottenham

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Tottenham remain 4th but it’s very much open as to who will finally claim the last Champions League place with Liverpool, Man City and Aston Villa very much in the race. Harry Redknapp’s team arguably face the toughest run-in with matches against the top three sides and an away trip to Eastlands to contend with but this clash at the Britannia Stadium promises to be another stern test of Spurs credentials.

Tony Cascarino: ‘The Sky’s the Limit’ For Spurs Star Gareth Bale

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Harry Redknapp must feel like he has signed a top new player for Tottenham the way Gareth Bale has completely turned his career around at White Hart Lane. The Welshman has been sensational since breaking back into the Spurs team and is now surely one of the first names on Harry’s team-sheet.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Pick: Tottenham v Blackburn

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Tottenham remain in pole position for a 4th placed finish but with games running out, this is yet another must win for Harry Redknapp’s injury-hit team. Spurs have arguably one of the biggest and best squads in the Premier League and Harry is having to make full use of that fact with the likes of Aaron Lennon, David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone, Jermaine Jenas, Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King all missing. Despite a number of important first teamers out, I still expect Tottenham to get the better of a Blackburn team this weekend that continues to suffer from a bad case of travel sickness.

Cascarino: Spurs Star Crouch Should be Ahead of Heskey & Cole for England

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Wayne Rooney is a certainty to be in the England side in South Africa this summer and I would expect Jermain Defoe to be joining him in the squad as a likely substitute. Who will be paired up front with Wayne is still up in the air with three of those contenders in the squad for tonight’s friendly with Egypt.

Cascarino: Spurs’ Lennon & Arsenal’s Walcott Should be go to the World Cup

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Theo Walcott is back in the England squad for tonight’s game with Egypt despite a pretty awful season for Arsenal. He has played very little football but apart from the recent match with Sunderland, he has done very little. However, I do feel that Fabio Capello knows how to get the best out of Walcott and will give him every chance to make the squad. It’s a shame Tottenham star Aaron Lennon is not fit as he was definitely the in-form right winger in the Premier League. He has thrilled the White Hart Lane fans this season with some scintillating performances for Harry Redknapp. Spurs and England need him back fully fit and firing as soon as possible.

It’s a Shame Spurs Star Gareth Cannot Bale Out England this Summer

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Ashley Cole is widely regarded as England’s and the Premier League’s best left-back but with the Chelsea defender out through injury, there aren’t too many top-class replacements for Fabio Capello to choose from. Wayne Bridge has been Cole’s understudy at both Chelsea and at international level but after withdrawing from playing for England after the John Terry fiasco, the only two potential candidates are Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock and Everton’s Leighton Baines. Unfortunately for Capello, the left-back currently performing best in the Premier League is a Welshman, Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Preview: Tottenham v Everton

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Arguably the most intriguing Premier League match of the weekend takes place at White Hart Lane as Tottenham and Everton go head to head. David Moyes’ team will be bursting with confidence after a superb run of form that has seen them lose just one of their last 12 league matches. This run includes back to back league wins over the top two sides in the league in Chelsea and Manchester United, so Harry Redknapp’s high-flyers are in for a real game.
