Long-term Liverpool target David Silva is reportedly being chased by Manchester United with Valencia likely to sell for £25m. Juventus were favourites for the diminutive winger earlier this summer but a deal fell through so Sir Alex Ferguson has stepped up his interest to prevent title rivals Liverpool making a move in the wake of the Xabi Alonso sale. Silva is one of a number of prized assets Valencia may have to sell after financial difficulties have left them over £400m in debt.

Reports in the Spanish press suggest Valencia will sell their 6 ft 8 Serbian striker Nikola Zigic this summer with numerous Premier League clubs showing an interest. Valencia Sporting Director Fernando Gomez confirmed this, “Some clubs have already asked about his situation,” he said.

Arsenal will now shift their attention towards Argentine defensive midfielder Ever Banega now reports have surfaced in Italy that number one target Felipe Melo is about to sign for Juventus. Rafa Benitez is also a known admirer but is not expected to raid his old club Valencia unless Javier Mascherano departs leaving the Gunners firmly in the driving seat.

Valencia winger Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez is expected to be one of the first out of the Mestalla this summer after a public spat with his coach Unai Emery last season. The club’s financial difficulties are well documented leaving them £400m in debt and Joaquin is expected to be one of a handful of first team stars on their way out particularly after his recent behaviour. Everton and Aston Villa are reported to be vying for the signature of Portuguese international right-back Luis Miguel Brito Garcia Monteiro (Miguel for short) this summer. The 29-year-old was strongly linked to a move to Villa Park last summer but the move failed to materialise. Valencia are heavily in debt to the tune of £400million so are expected to sell many of their stars with Miguel tipped to be one of the first out of the Mestalla.
