Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Pick: Chelsea v West Ham

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Chelsea have been knocked off top spot in recent weeks as Manchester United have replaced them while Arsenal’s excellent run of form sees them level on points with Carlo Ancelotti’s team. Therefore, this weekend’s clash with West Ham is a must win in terms of boosting confidence ahead of a run of potentially tricky fixtures. Alternatively, the Hammers need to bounce back from a home defeat to Bolton which leaves Gianfranco Zola’s team just 3 points clear of the relegation zone.

Alan Hansen’s Premier 10 Pick: West Ham v Bolton

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Just a point separates these two clubs in the Premier League table but it’s Bolton who have dominated the recent meetings between these two. The Trotters have won the last five clashes with the Hammers in all competitions including home wins in the league and Carling Cup this season. However, West Ham are on a roll at Upton Park, so Owen Coyle’s team have their work cut-out getting anything in East London this weekend.

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Wayne Rooney is a certainty to be in the England side in South Africa this summer and I would expect Jermain Defoe to be joining him in the squad as a likely substitute. Who will be paired up front with Wayne is still up in the air with three of those contenders in the squad for tonight’s friendly with Egypt.

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Manchester United’s recent defensive performances against both AC Milan and Everton defensively should give Gianfranco Zola all the encouragement he needs to send out his West Ham side to have a real go at Old Trafford.

Alan Hansen’s Premier League Preview: West Ham v Birmingham

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

The takeover and new striking arrivals at Upton Park were expected to inspire the Hammers to a much-needed win. However, West Ham slumped to another disappointing defeat at the weekend to fellow strugglers Burnley. After failing to beat Portsmouth, Blackburn and Burnley since the much heralded takeover, West Ham now face a tough test against a Birmingham side full of confidence, experience and belief.
