Thomson on course to return

30th June 2009

Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson is hoping to be fit for the start of the new Clydesdale Bank Premier League season.

The 24-year-old has been out of action since suffering a cruciate injury back in November.

Having missed the majority of Rangers' double-winning campaign, it was feared he could also miss the the start of the new term.

But Thomson is hoping for good news when he sees a specialist on Wednesday.

"My fitness is good," he said. "I've been in over the summer while the other boys have been on holiday and so far so good.

"I'm just hoping to get through the next month without any problems and hopefully see if I'm good for the start of the season."
