Bennett eager to return
1st December 2008
Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett is hoping to return to action within the next two weeks to help the club move away from the wrong end of the Championship table.
The 23-year-old, who voted the club's player of the year last season, has spent over a month on the sidelines after sustaining a broken collarbone during an accidental collision with goalkeeper Lee Camp.
Bennett is desperate to return to action to help Forest, one point off the bottom of the table, to safety. And, although he insists he must be patient with the final stages of his recovery, he is excited at the prospect of getting back into the thick of things.
"I've started to get full range of movement back. It's still very sore but the physios have warned me that it will be that way for a while," he said on the club's official website.
"In the past, I would have been pushing and pushing for a game ahead of schedule but I know I've got to be more careful. The main thing is that the bone has healed. Personally, I feel as though I'm a couple of weeks away.
"But I'm desperate to get back out there and help the team stabilise in the Championship."
