Bennett steps up comeback

2nd December 2008

Nottingham Forest defender Julian Bennett has made a successful return for the club's reserve side as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.

The 23-year-old defender had been on the sidelines for six weeks with a broken collarbone but returned to play the full 90 minutes for the second-string side against Leicester.

Boss Colin Calderwood will now consider whether to hand Bennett a first-team recall against Coventry on Saturday.

Forest, who also included Ian Breckin, Arron Davies, Matt Thornhill and Garath McCleary in the side, slipped to a 1-0 defeat in the match in which Mark Byrne missed a penalty.
