Rowlands hungry for Wolves test

4th December 2008

QPR skipper Martin Rowlands insists his side are capable of bringing Championship leaders Wolves down a peg or two at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Rangers, now under new boss Paulo Sousa, welcome in-form Wanderers in front of the live television cameras with Rowlands confident they can spring a tea-time surprise in west London.

"It goes without saying this is one of our biggest fixtures of the season to date," said the midfielder.

"They are flying high at the top of the Championship table and have proven quality throughout their squad.

"Their league position is no fluke and we know we will need to be at our very best to topple them. But we have begun life well under the new gaffer and this is a genuine opportunity for us to lay down a marker against one of our promotion rivals."
