Clarke happy with first-team run

2nd December 2008

Sheffield Wednesday forward Leon Clarke has attributed his improved form and growing self-belief to a consistent run in Brian Laws' starting line-up.

Clarke, in and out of the side since arriving from Wolves in January 2007, has been a regular since late October and scored three goals in six appearances in November.

Clarke, voted player of the month for November by Owls fans, told the club's official website: "I felt I'd been working hard, linking up play well, I just needed a couple of goals and thankfully that's happened for me.

"I'm playing every week and that makes a big difference. The team is doing well with two wins on the spin, so I'm really happy."
