Clarke hails Laws management

2nd December 2008

Sheffield Wednesday striker Leon Clarke has praised manager Brian Laws for treating his players as people and "not robots".

Clarke is enjoying his best spell of form at Hillsborough since arriving from Wolves in January 2007 and has credited his manager Laws for his upturn in fortunes.

Clarke told the club's official website: "The manager stresses we have to keep the ball in the middle third and express ourselves in the final third.

"We're not robots, and it's good the manager allows us to show us what we can do.

"Sometimes it comes off, sometimes not, but the important thing is we have the confidence to try again."

Clarke, who scored three goals in his last six matches, has been voted player of the month for November by Owls fans.
