Johnson faces month out

4th December 2008

Sheffield Wednesday winger Jermaine Johnson has been ruled out for four weeks with knee ligament damage.

Johnson sustained the injury in the recent win at Blackpool and missed last week's home victory over Norwich.

Owls manager Brian Laws said: "Jermaine's injury is one that has taken everybody by surprise because the knee is worse than we first thought.

"There is damage to the medial ligament, so it will keep him out for the next four weeks."

The Jamaica international is now expected to be sidelined for the entire Christmas fixture schedule.
