Davis hails Saints youngsters
30th November 2008
Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis praised the performance of the club's youngsters after they helped earn a goalless draw at Charlton.
Davis made some crucial first-half saves while Adam Lallana, Bradley Wright-Phillips and on-loan Chelsea youngster Jack Cork all impressed.
"I have had to make some saves, but to have come away with a point means that we did ok," Davis told the club`s official website.
"But with the young lads that we have got here, when you get to half-time at 0-0 we felt that we would go on and win it in the second-half.
"We`ll take a point though. It keeps a bit of distance between us and them and at half-time we said that if we can`t win it then we won`t lose it.
"Two clean sheets in a row is always a nice accolade to achieve. It was a big boost to get one the other night and now, with a home game coming up next week we want to be able to show the fans what we can do and hopefully we can take a run on from here."
