Wilde delighted with draw

1st December 2008

Southampton chairman Michael Wilde has admitted his delight at landing Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup.

Saints will host the Red Devils in early January, the first time they have faced Sir Alex Ferguson's star-studded side since 2005.

"It is a fantastic draw," said Wilde.

"I'm so pleased that we have the opportunity on a national stage, to show people what we're all about.

"I am also happy it is a home draw because it gives us a chance to show our fans what we can do and hopefully it will bring some more people in to watch."
