Lancashire makes return

4th December 2008

Southampton defender Olly Lancashire has put himself in the frame for Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday after coming through a reserve game unscathed.

The young centre-half has been sidelined with a knee injury sustained against Wolves three weeks ago, but he played the full 90 minutes as Saints' second string beat Lewes 2-0 on Wednesday night.

"Olly played 90 minutes which was good for him as he has been coming back from injury," said coach Mark Wotte.

Matt Paterson and Jason Euell were on target for Saints at Lewes' freezing Dripping Pan ground.
