Moore struggling for Saturday

17th November 2008

Darren Moore is an early doubt for Barnsley's Championship fixture at Preston next Saturday.

The former West Brom and Derby defender was forced out of the action in the 15th minute during Saturday's win over Watford due to a groin strain.

Barnsley manager Simon Davey said: "Darren went to pass the ball out of defence and felt something in his groin. He knew immediately that he could not carry on.

"Luckily for us we had Bobby Hassell on the bench who could come straight into defence.

"I've spoken a lot in the last few weeks about the strength of our squad and we needed that against Watford. A lot of credit has to go to those players who came in and did so well."
