Myhill hails boss Brown

3rd December 2008

Hull goalkeeper Boaz Myhill believes manager Phil Brown has helped bring the best out of him.

Myhill has impressed during Hull's superb first season in the Barclays Premier League and he partly attributes that to to confidence in him invested by Brown.

Brown, who celebrates two years in charge at the KC Stadium this week, has lifted the Tigers from relegation from the Championship to the top six of the top flight via play-off success last May.

Wales international Myhill, 26, said: "I'll always be grateful for what he has done for me. I think this is the best football I have played in my career. I have enjoyed myself under Phil Brown.

"But he'd be the first to tell you he is not happy with where we are now - he wants more for the club and himself. That is the way he is and the way it has to be. If you don't keep improving then you kind of take a step backwards."
