Jones expects January struggle
2nd December 2008
Crystal Palace assistant boss Mick Jones admits the club could struggle to offload players during the January transfer window.
Manager Neil Warnock revealed at the weekend he wants up to six of the highest earners off the wage bill to free up funds - with the likes of Carl Fletcher and Shefki Kuqi among the obvious candidates.
But Jones told the South London Press: "I would be surprised if we saw five or six leave because it's hard to move people on with big wages - and the recession is hitting football clubs hard.
"It's alright us wanting to release players, but getting someone to take them is the biggest problem we have got. Agents will make people aware of the availability of players but after that there is not much we can do."
Warnock needs to trim the wage bill to fund a permanent deal for on-loan West Brom striker Craig Beattie.
