Monk wary of Trundle threat
3rd December 2008
Swansea skipper Garry Monk has warned his side to beware former team-mate Lee Trundle ahead of this weekend's clash with Bristol City.
The Liverpudlian striker gained hero status during his stay in south Wales, scoring 78 league goals in four seasons as a Swan.
Trundle is now set to face up to his old club for the first time at Ashton Gate on Saturday and Monk is anticipating a difficult test.
He told the South Wales Evening Post: "We know the talent Lee has got and we know we're going to have to be very careful with him.
"He has got lots of quality and bags of tricks. I know it will be a strange day for him because of the way he feels about Swansea, but he has got to do a job for Bristol City and I'm sure he'll be trying to get a goal.
"How will we stop him? Give him a dig in the tunnel maybe, and then get right into him during the game. Seriously though, Lee is a great lad and I'm sure it will be a good battle."
