Levein to adopt more cautious approach
28th November 2008
Craig Levein admits his Dundee United side may have to be less gung-ho in order to win more away points.
The Tangerines have taken only six Clydesdale Bank Premier League points from a possible 21 on the road this season and travel to St Mirren on Saturday looking to double their amount of away wins.
Levein, likely to make changes to the team which drew with Hamilton last weekend, has tried to be more adventurous in the current campaign but is tempted to revert back to the 4-5-1 formation which served his side so well on their travels last term.
He said: "Maybe I've been a bit cavalier and perhaps a new approach is needed."
United beat St Mirren 2-0 at Tannadice last month but will travel to Love Street knowing their opponents will want to mark manager Gus MacPherson's five years in charge with a win.
"St Mirren have improved a lot this season, and I was really impressed with them at Tannadice the last time," said Levein.
