Levein set for new deal

2nd December 2008

Dundee United manager Craig Levein is poised to sign a new contract.

The 44-year-old has revealed that negotiations are at an advanced stage and he is keen to extend his stay in Tayside.

Levein has enjoyed two successful years at Tannadice and reports suggest he will pledge his future to the club until 2011.

"I am happy here and we are negotiating a new contract," he told the Scottish Daily Mail.

"It will be sorted out fairly soon. I am not in any hurry to leave Dundee United.

"The only way I will leave here is if I get sacked or if a job comes up that really does appeal to me so much that I cannot turn it down.

"I see every job as a project and there's a lot to be done - and to be achieved - at Dundee United."
