Blake signs new Bluebirds deal

27th August 2008

Cardiff youngster Darcy Blake has put pen to paper on a new contract at Ninian Park.

The 19-year-old Academy product, who can play in midfield or at full-back, made his first start of the season against Norwich last weekend and also featured in the Carling Cup win over MK Dons on Tuesday night - although he came off injured during the first half.

Blake has made 26 appearances for the Bluebirds since his debut against Crewe in April 2006, and also has six caps for Wales' Under-21s.

Meanwhile, City are awaiting the results of an X-ray on Riccy Scimeca's leg after the midfielder was stretchered off against the Dons.
