Saints look at Murty

Former Reading skipper Graeme Murty is joining Southampton on trial.

The 34-year-old full-back was released by the Royals after 11 years at the end of the season, and Saints boss Mark Wotte has invited him to train at the south-coast club.

"Graeme is a very experienced defender and we will be taking a look at him over the next week or so," said Wotte.

"It is important we do not lose any more time in our preparations for the new season and taking players on trial is an important part of that process," he added.
