Laszlo wants new faces
3rd July 2009
Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo hopes to have new players on board the squad's flight to Germany on Monday.
Former Inverness midfielder Ian Black and Spanish winger Suso Santana joined their new team-mates for pre-season training this week while German midfielder Tibor Heber, 23, is on trial. But Laszlo is looking for experienced additions to his squad ahead of the tour of Germany.
"In a short time I hope to have more players and after that we can talk about the team and the squad," Laszlo told Hearts News.
He added: "We have a little bit of time but we must begin to work and try to quickly form a competitive team. Come August 15 we must have a team that's prepared.
"I don't like to take players at the last minute. Okay you can take one or two but the priority is to have the players together."
Hearts look set to miss out on former midfielder Paul Hartley with the released Celtic player reported to be close to signing for Bristol City.
But Laszlo has one experienced former player back in his ranks after Portuguese defender Jose Goncalves returned from a one-year loan spell with Nuremberg.
"Jose is like a new player but nobody gets a free letter to the team," Laszlo added.
"He must show his talent and find his place. It is important to bring quality to the team. If you do that, you have a chance to play for me."
