Brewers swoop for Moore

8th May 2010

Burton have agreed terms to sign Darren Moore subject to the clearance of paperwork from Barnsley.

The former Derby and West Brom defender was recently told he was surplus to requirements at Oakwell and Burton boss Paul Peschisolido has acted quickly to secure his services.

Peschisolido told Burton's official website: "I am absolutely delighted to have signed him. His attitude is superb. I've worked with him before and I know he is a player who will help this club progress.

"He has a winning mentality and is definitely not somebody who will get bullied. He is the kind of player who is infectious. His attitude will rub off on other players and make the whole team better."

Moore added: "This is a fresh challenge that I'm looking forward to. Me and the gaffer played together at Derby and we were part of a really successful team there. There is a lot of mutual respect between us and when the opportunity came up he contacted me and asked if I wanted to come and be a part of what he is doing at Burton.

"I want to maximise my playing potential and I can do that at Burton. I offer a wealth of experience, I'm a no nonsense type of player. I will always give my best and I expect the players around me to give their best as well."
