Buckle grateful for Collis loan deal

10th May 2010

Torquay boss Paul Buckle has thanked Bristol City for loaning goalkeeper Steve Collis to the injury-hit Gulls for the final game of the season.

Buckle was delighted with the way Collis stepped in as United held champions Notts County to a goalless draw to make it seven consecutive clean sheets.

Buckle said: "It was not easy for Steve, but he wanted to come here and he did well. It's another clean sheet which says it all.

"We thank Bristol City for letting him come here because we were able to get him down here to train with us and that helped.

"I think he might been feeling the pressure a little bit because of our recent run but he certainly didn't show it and I felt that the 10 in front of him in yellow shirts really did protect him."

United have set a new club record of 691 minutes without conceding a goal.
