Coventry hit by Dann blow

4th December 2008

Coventry captain Scott Dann has been ruled out for at least six weeks as a result of the shoulder injury he sustained in the 3-1 defeat to Reading.

Scans revealed the defender suffered a semi-dislocation of his right shoulder, tendon damage and torn muscles at the Madejski Stadium on Monday night.

The 21-year-old is set to see a specialist to determine whether he requires surgery.

Ben Turner, Dann's replacement at Reading, is likely to start Saturday's home game against Nottingham Forest.

"Scott was devastated when he heard the news and it is a massive loss to the team," said Sky Blues assistant manager Steve Kean. "You always miss quality players in key areas of the pitch and Scott is certainly that.

"But Ben Turner has been extremely patient and did very well the other night and we have got Marcus Hall as well, so those lads are going to get their opportunity now."
