Roeder hoping to secure Lita extension

4th December 2008

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is hopeful of securing an extension to Leroy Lita's loan spell at Carrow Road.

Lita's current stint from Reading expires after Sunday's derby clash with Ipswich, but Roeder will open talks with the striker in a bid to persuade him to stay on with the Canaries.

"I want to keep him longer, I'll have a chat with Leroy because I don't see any reason why he would want to go back to Reading at the moment," he said.

"I can see no point in him going back if he's not going to be involved in first-team action."
