Dorus is De best - Williams

12th March 2010

Swansea defender Ashley Williams believes Dorus de Vries is the best goalkeeper in the Championship following his outstanding contribution to the club`s fortunes this term.

De Vries has been in good form throughout this season and has conceded just nine goals in 17 home games so far.

Williams has hailed the Dutch shot-stopper's reliability, going so far as to rate him as the best in the division.

"You`ve only got to look at the saves he has pulled off this season to see how valuable he has been for us," Williams told the South Wales Evening Post.

"There are a number of quality keepers in this league, but he is the best in my opinion.

"He is like an extra outfield player to us because of his footballing ability - he is one of our best passers. You couldn't have asked for more from Dorus this season."
