Rams reveal Bloomer bust

4th December 2008

Derby have revealed they will unveil a bust of Rams legend Steve Bloomer at their home Championship match against QPR on January 17 to mark the club's 125-year anniversary.

The unveiling will be the first of a host of events planned to commemorate the landmark.

Bloomer scored 332 goals for Derby in 525 games over two spells in the late 1890s and early 1900s.

President Tom Glick told the club's website: "Steve Bloomer is a figure who unites all generations of fans and the backing for the bust project has been sensational.

"It will be a special moment when the bust is unveiled and we officially kick-off our 125th anniversary celebrations." He added: "The history and tradition of Derby County is its key strength. We intend to mark this milestone date in a manner worthy of the legends who have graced the club and the magnificent supporters who have made it so special."
