Giovinco shuns Zola advances

4th December 2008

Sebastian Giovinco has ruled himself out of a move to West Ham by insisting he is happy to stay at Juventus, even if only to sit on the bench.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder had caught the eye of Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola, who had previously worked with the youngster at Italy Under-21 level.

But despite having only made the starting XI twice so far this season in the Serie A, Giovinco insists he has no intention of leaving Turin - neither on loan nor permanently.

"Even if I'm not playing much, I have no intention of moving nor, above all, leaving," he told the Juventus website, www.juventus.it.

"Juventus are the most important club in the world and being here is the most you can ask for. I'm from Turin, I've grown up at this club and wearing the first team shirt is a dream come true.

"At the moment I'm only thinking about the league and the Champions League, two objectives to aim for. My dream is winning with Juventus. As an important player."
