Saha could be back for City clash

4th December 2008

Louis Saha could be in action for Everton as soon as the Manchester City match on December 13.

The striker injured a hamstring in the win at Tottenham last weekend, and it was feared he could face a long lay-off. But scans have confirmed that he has only suffered limited damage to the hamstring, which is a boost for boss David Moyes.

Moyes has Ayegbeni Yakubu out for the season with an Achilles injury, while James Vaughan in is Colorado where he had a cartilage operation.

It is too early for Saha to face Aston Villa on Sunday, but if he responds to treatment next week, he has a good chance of playing at Eastlands.

Another Everton player who is the subject of a positive injury bulletin is Tony Hibbert, who has not been involved with the squad since the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough last month.

He suffered a groin injury in training but his rehabilitation has gone to plan and he may be involved when Aston Villa visit on Sunday.
