9th May 2010

St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson was short and sharp with his assessment of his side's 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen.

Lee Mair's first-half own goal ensured the Buddies ended the season with a loss, but MacPherson was just happy that his men had avoided relegation this season.

He said: "We are just delighted to still be in the SPL.

"It's been a long, hard season but the team has put the effort in over the last four or five weeks.

"Many managers would be happy to be in the position we are in."
